We are seeking a Market Access Officer to join our Market & Patient Access (MPA) team. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical capability, understanding of the AU/NZ reimbursement environment, and a desire to grow their expertise in market access consulting.
Job Responsibility:
Contribute to high-quality market access, research, and market intelligence consulting services for clients across pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices
Support the preparation of reimbursement submissions including PBAC, MSAC, PL and PHARMAC
Conduct desk and primary research to define value propositions for medicines, devices, or procedures
Perform disease-specific research including epidemiology and burden of illness assessments
Undertake robust clinical evaluation of interventions to support reimbursement claims
Assist in developing or adapting cost-effectiveness (CEA), cost-minimisation (CMA), and cost-utility (CUA) models
Build budget impact models (BIMs) and pricing models including risk‑sharing analyses
Assist clients through the entire listing process for their products
Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies for HTA submissions
Author reimbursement submissions, landscape reviews, and feasibility assessments, with a focus on clinical, economic, and financial sections
Depending on experience, lead HTA submission activities or sections of project delivery
Perform statistical analyses including comparative effectiveness, survival analysis, and meta-analysis
Support projects across health outcomes research, commercial assessments, competitive intelligence, and white papers (depending on workload)
Travel as required
Participate in assigned projects and support project teams with research, analysis, and delivery
Provide guidance and oversight to junior team members where appropriate
Provide project management support, including client liaison, scoping, proposal development, resourcing, timelines, and follow-up
Ensure high‑quality reports, presentations, and deliverables aligned with deadlines, client expectations, and project budgets
Assist with preparing proposals and client agreements
Requirements:
Degree in Science, Economics, Pharmacy, or a related discipline
Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in Australia in market access, health economics, or a related area (industry, consulting, or academia)
Understanding of the Australian and New Zealand healthcare and reimbursement systems, evidence-based medicine, and HTA principles
Strong Excel modelling capabilities, including cost‑effectiveness and health outcomes modelling
Demonstrated skills in medical writing, data analysis, modelling, and report development
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Creative, solutions‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail
Excellent planning and organisational skills, including managing multiple deadlines
Strong project management capability
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
Appetite for learning and development
Nice to have:
Post‑graduate qualifications in Health Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, or Biotechnology
Knowledge of analytical software such as SAS, STATA, R, or TreeAge
At least 1 year of consulting experience
Experience engaging with reimbursement bodies such as PBAC, MSAC, or HTA Section
Experience drafting complex reports or reimbursement submissions
