You will be an essential part of the intricate system that safeguards our country and ensures the safety of our maritime assets.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and manage the Class Certification Plan, providing oversight of certification activities to ensure sustained compliance with Navy, regulatory, and statutory requirements throughout the in‑service lifecycle
Establish and maintain the Class Certification Basis, ensuring it remains current, configuration‑controlled, and reflective of approved requirements and the material state of Class assets
Act as the single point of contact for all Class certification matters, coordinating engagement with Navy certification authorities, Defence engineering authorities, regulators, and industry partners
Define and manage certification and regulatory requirements for the Class systems and sub‑systems, including certification methods, assurance activities, and evidence expectations
Assure ongoing materiel conformity through configuration management, certification surveillance, configuration audits, and assessment of engineering changes against the Certification Basis
Manage and review certification evidence, ensuring Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) is complete, traceable, and sufficient to support certification decisions and seaworthiness assurance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
Proven experience in Material Certification or Verification & Validation (V&V) within a Defence context
Understanding of the Naval technical regulatory environment and seaworthiness principles
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex documentation hierarchies
Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1 minimum)
