Job Description

Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is hiring a Marine Structural Engineer, Team Lead to join our growing Power & Transportation team in Vancouver. You’ll be working on marine and civil infrastructure projects in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. As part of our Vancouver office—where many of KCB’s largest infrastructure projects are delivered—you’ll contribute to the growth of our ports and marine engineering business, reporting directly to a Senior Department Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead technical design work while mentoring junior staff and contributing to major infrastructure projects in Canada and internationally.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead engineering design for ports, harbours, and large civil infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and drafters
  • Mentor junior staff and help grow the technical capabilities of the team
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project summaries
  • Participate in site visits to gather design input and ensure quality throughout project phases
  • Foster strong client relationships and contribute to business development
  • Occasionally travel within Canada and abroad

Requirements

  • P.Eng. registration in Canada (or eligibility in BC)
  • 20+ years of progressive engineering experience, including project delivery in port engineering or similar heavy civil projects
  • Strong technical design experience in: Reinforced concrete and structural steel
  • Foundations (piled and other), marine structures, and earthworks
  • Seismic and marine-specific design
  • Effective cross-disciplinary coordination skills
  • Proven team leadership and ability to communicate across all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written English and strong report writing capabilities
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling for large projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
