You will join Energy Management business unit that include the supply, trading, and dispatch of oil, biofuels, natural gas, electricity, and environmental products - both from Galp's own capital and third parties. These operations provide greater value along Galp's integrated business chain, as they seek to proactively seize commercial opportunities, maximise the integrated margin, and navigate the dynamics and volatility of the energy market.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure the application of the Vetting Manual and the qualification of vessels operating with Galp, including risk assessments in cases of non-compliance
Conduct technical inspections of vessels and support chartering processes (spot and time charter)
Ensure compliance with ISM and ISPS Code requirements, promoting continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS)
Coordinate internal audits and collaborate in external audits, ensuring the effective handling of non-conformities, incidents, and near-misses
Monitor developments in international legislation and regulations (IMO, OCIMF, INTERTANKO, IACS, etc.), incorporating best practices into operations
Manage the interface with maritime authorities, flag administrations, classification societies, and other official entities
Coordinate the implementation and updating of Ship Security Plans, issuing assessments on potential threats and ensuring adequate training of crews
Ensure continuous awareness of operational safety and maritime security among employees
Requirements:
Professional experience: Experience as a Merchant Navy Officer, in the role of Master or Chief Engineer (or equivalent onboard management positions)
Academic background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Naval Engineering, or equivalent education from recognized institutions (including Naval Academy)
Languages: Proficiency in Portuguese (spoken and written) and fluent English (minimum level C1)
Technical skills: Strong computer skills (MS Office) and familiarity with quality, safety, and security management systems
Certifications: Designated Person Ashore (DPA) recognized by maritime administrations
Accident Investigation Training (classification societies or equivalent)
Security Certification recognized by maritime administrations
