We are looking for a detail-oriented Mapping Coordinator to support the accuracy and organization of electric distribution system records in Providence, Rhode Island. This is a Long-term Contract position suited for someone who can research facility data, interpret technical documentation, and maintain records with a high degree of precision. The role combines office-based coordination, data upkeep, and collaboration with field teams to ensure system information remains current and reliable.
Job Responsibility
Review updates from field personnel and other sources to document changes affecting electric distribution records.
Examine facility information for accuracy and completeness before entering or revising data in internal recordkeeping systems.
Maintain spreadsheets, scanned files, and related databases by recording administrative and operational information in a timely manner.
Prepare copies, printed materials, plots, and other supporting documents needed for facility work and office activities.
Keep mapping, work activity, and related records current through consistent file maintenance and document control.
Research discrepancies in existing records by gathering supporting information from field teams, correspondence, or site visits when needed.
Organize and preserve paper and electronic files in accordance with record retention and filing procedures
Requirements
Associate degree in engineering technology, a related technical discipline, or completion of relevant technical coursework or certification.
One to two years of related experience in mapping, records, utilities, or a similar environment is preferred.
Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, databases, and standard office software.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maps, and electric distribution system information.
Working knowledge of overhead and underground electric network components and record documentation practices.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work well with internal teams and external contacts.
Valid driver’s license required for occasional field-related work or site visits.
