The job holder will be part of MAP Structure & Cargo – TADAX1, within the Stress team. MAP Structure & Cargo is composed of a multidisciplinary, cross-functional and international team of highly skilled and motivated engineers involved on the complete Aircraft. Its mission is developed at the intersection of the Program, Industrial and Engineering domains, acting as a principal actor during the FAL Build Process, Ground Testing, Flight Testing and Delivery Process. In this position you will have a unique opportunity to be as close as possible to the physical Aircraft and deeply involved trough the complete Aircraft´s design, build, test process, Aircraft operations and Delivery to the Customers. This role requires the ability to adapt to MAP environment and to develop strong links with all Engineering, DTO, FAL, Flight Tests, Flight Line, Flight Crews, Quality, Delivery and Production teams. Additionally in recent years the MAP has been developing skills in Specific Design Workpackage like the Firefighter and other specific additional Capabilities where you will be a key actor. As a stress member you will have the unique opportunity to be involved in different projects from the Specific Design Workpackage to supporting Production & Flight Test activities.
Job Responsibility:
Support to Specific Design Workpackage
Stress analysis and validation of metallic, composite & hybrid structures, using Airbus Defence & Space methods, to assess design solutions for a whole range of tasks, potentially from concept and structural development to certification and in-service maintenance
Static sizing and detailed analysis of the structural components, parts and assemblies, as well as integration of systems and equipment
Analysis and validation at component level for static strength producing relevant strength margins or reserve factors according to validated and applicable Airbus methods & sizing processes
Stress analysis by means of FEM techniques (preparation, validation and assessment of results) and application of traditional stress justification methods and tools
Definition and establishment of the certification/qualification stress documents
Structural test definition, support and analysis of the tests
Support to Production & Flight Test
Ensure safe operations of the Product with respect to structural integrity and operational effectiveness
Liaise with and support stakeholders such as Final Assembly Line, Flight Line, Delivery Centre, Flight Test Centre, Design Office, Chief Engineers, Airworthiness Authorities and other MAP offices for daily business and for improvement projects
Define and deliver technical solutions in support of build, test and delivery of aircraft on Non-Conformities
Involved in Static&FDT justifications on composite & metallic structures for NCN, concessions & Special Instructions following deviation from the definition & need of A/C Configuration change within Flight Test Campaign
Develop towards getting CoC delegations and autonomy on the complete A/C
Be part of various projects (NCs Eradication, CSDM, digital tools,...) in close relation within projects teams and stakeholders so as to continuously improve our efficiency, hence our financial and operational performances
Opportunities to get more familiar with Flight Tests activities and the creation of Special Instructions (SIs)
Requirements:
University Aeronautical Engineering Degree or equivalent
5+ years’ experience in Structural analysis of airframe components, metallic & composite structures
Knowledge of structural analysis in general and design details of airframe including tools
Knowledge of Airbus Tools & Methods (ISAMI, ISAMI Xpress, SRM)
Ability to understand and perform static calculation within metallic & composites structure according to Airbus methods and sizing processes, including FEM techniques
Ability to provide stress analyses for the repair/acceptance of metallic & composite damaged structures
Ability to understand and integrate technologies in the domain of metallic & composite materials
Fluent English language
Good level of Spanish required
Good autonomous decision making based on technical experience is essential for this role
Strong team working skills and a proven ability to work in a multicultural environment are required in order to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business
