The Manufacturing Test Engineer position reports to the Software Quality Assurance Manager within the Software Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will own production automated test infrastructure for StreamCaster wireless systems—designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing test stations and logging/analysis tools to ensure full feature coverage and reliable performance. They will also partner closely with RF, systems, software, and quality engineering teams to establish thresholds, validate new tests, enable feature rollouts, and support resolution of production line issues through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Job Responsibility:
Design and implement comprehensive test plans to provide full coverage of wireless communication system feature sets
Design and implement logging and log analysis tools to capture performance of both the systems under test and the test infrastructure itself
Take ownership of production test station design, implementation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade
continuous improvement of manufacturing test efficiency
Collaborate with RF and systems engineering teams to understand performance requirements and establish production tests and performance thresholds
Partner with engineering and quality teams to validate new testing approaches for rollout to production
Work closely with the software development team to augment production test systems to support rollout of new features and product configurations
Basic manufacturing failure troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production failures escalated to engineering
Travel Requirements – rare local travel, as required by Silvus.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related technical field plus a minimum of 2 years of test engineering experience
Strong foundational skills in software development with Python, C/C++, or related languages
Experience developing for one or more of Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, or Bare metal environments
Demonstrated experience in wireless/networking or an electronics manufacturing environment
Proficient with RF instruments such as signal generators and spectrum analyzers
Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts

Nice to have:
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices
Demonstrated experience developing software for automated test equipment (ATE)
Skilled in the use of containerization and deployment tools like Docker or Nginx
Acquainted with mesh networking
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Aptitude for problem-solving and troubleshooting technical challenges
