Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Manufacturing Technician B who will provide support for repairing units returned from customers, including unit alignment, assembly, and testing.

Job Responsibility:

  • Follow and comply with work instructions, safety rules, and operating and maintenance instructions
  • Assemble, align, and test systems and components for optics and laser assemblies following specified work instructions and procedures to ensure the finished product meets operational and cosmetic requirements
  • Work with RTV, epoxy, and other bonds/adhesives
  • Complete fine/complex assemblies with small components and apply bonds/adhesives, potentially using a microscope
  • Make fine adjustments while simultaneously monitoring computer/screen output of unit results
  • Operate complex active alignment stations and tooling
  • Use, read, and interpret oscilloscopes and other measurement devices/tools
  • Possess working knowledge of electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies
  • Perform basic computer activities with provided programs
  • Identify, utilize, and perform preventive maintenance on tools and test equipment as required
  • Demonstrate comprehension of engineering prints and schematics
  • Report deviations from standards to the appropriate resources for review, instruction, and authorization, and obtain quality inspections when appropriate
  • Support Lean manufacturing efforts through continuous process improvement
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures
  • Apply considerable math skills to perform calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Cultivate a culture that assures effective cross-functional teamwork
  • Perform job duties in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 0-2 years prior experience

Nice to have:

  • Experience with LabView programs is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating 25%-50% of workstations, as documented by training records
