Team Leader Sweets department- PM shift. 40 hours per week, 14:00 - 22:00 Monday to Friday. Your role as Team Leader within our Sweets Department will be delivering plan completion; controlling costs, ensuring that KPI targets are achieved, coming up with continuous improvement ideas and implementation. You will ensure that the department runs to its maximum efficiency with right first time quality productivity. The department is keen to promote excellent team work by employing people who have a positive (can do) attitude. By achieving this, the department is in the best position to produce products in an efficient manner. We aim to not only achieve our targets but improve on them as well. Your role will be to look after the Sweets Kitchen starting the process on making the mix's and cooking the products, The Production Lines throughout sweets ensuring the lines are getting the materials they need and dealing with escalations that arise. Taking ownership of the department and the wash-up ensuring it is always left in the best position it can be. Sweets Produce around 330,000 units a week of finished product but make around 500,000 units a week when you include all the WIP (work in progress) tasks which makes it unique within Apetio Trowbridge. You will manage a team of 15+ with the skill sets to achieve tasks, training and upskilling is a must for the team success.
Job Responsibility:
Lead, motivate, coach and support your team of people
Minimise cost through adequate controls and training
Investigate reasons for poor efficiency and wastage
Work to agreed plan and highlight any issues
In conjunction with material requirements and stocks adopt plan changes
Planning ahead to ensure the team keep devaluation/wastage to a minimum in other areas and ensuring plan attainment
Flexible attitude towards covering for others and start times to suit the business
Ensure productivity target is met through optimisation of line speed and throughput
efficiency
To actively drive improvements in customer complaints performance by focusing on achieving product quality right first time
To ensure due diligence, CCP and traceability documentation is fully completed
Actively encourage employees to report product quality defects
Ensure departmental hygiene standards and all operators follow correct personal hygiene procedures
Ensure all operators operate to a clean (and tidy) as you go policy
Undertake ‘Intermediate Food Hygiene’ training: a pass level must be obtained
Complete regulation forms and paperwork
Complete process orders
Maintain accurate information on downtime
Ensure hourly SIC is recorded correctly
Conduct job chats as required with team
Identify and facilitate ways for team members to develop and increase their contribution (training)
Ensure adherence to rules & procedures, and standards
Maintain the Sweets Pot schedule
Ensure Scanning is being done correctly through the department.
Requirements:
Good standards of English and Math's
Basic computer skills in word and excel
Experience in using a WMS (warehouse Management System) such as SAP, QAD, AS400.

Level 3 Food Safety
IOSH Managing Safety, Behavioral Safety
