A manufacturing facility is seeking a mechanically inclined Manufacturing Operator. This position involves operating and maintaining manufacturing and testing equipment to support the production of specialty materials. Candidates should have hands-on mechanical aptitude, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Job Responsibility:
Operate manufacturing equipment including melting, stripping, weighing, cutting, and welding for electrode production
Perform (VIM, VAR, ESR) melting and set up electrodes for production
Roll and generate test samples, ensuring proper setup and adherence to rolling procedures
Read, understand, and follow written procedures and work instructions
Maintain accurate production records and enter data electronically
Perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
Carry out redraw, wire drawing, cleaning, and annealing processes
Prepare, inspect, and pack products for shipment
Receive, identify, store, and distribute materials and test samples for metallographic and mechanical testing
Safely handle hazardous materials and wastes in accordance with safety guidelines
Requirements:
Mechanically inclined with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Ability to complete initial and annual hazardous waste training (training provided)
Ability to work safely in a team-based environment
Nice to have:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous manufacturing or materials handling experience a plus
