We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Engineering Group at GM of Canada Company, St. Catharines Propulsion Plant. This role will be instrumental in optimizing our manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across our operations.
Job Responsibility:
Apply General Motors Manufacturing System (GMS) principles to identify and eliminate waste, standardize processes, and improve overall operational efficiency
Conduct in-depth Process Engineering analyses, including process flow PFMEA, cycle time studies, and bottleneck identification
Manage existing processes, and develop opportunities to improve uptimes, cycle times, and throughput, including implement new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenance to resolve manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement in a unionized environment
Prepare detailed analysis, related to manufacturing processes and projects
Requirements:
Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field preferred)
Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably within the automotive industry
Demonstrated experience with General Motors Manufacturing System (GMS) or similar lean manufacturing methodologies
Expertise in Process Engineering techniques, including process optimization and troubleshooting
Experience leading and facilitating Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Understanding Engine component manufacturing is a plus
