The manufacturing engineer serves as a primary technical resource within the assigned manufacturing area of pressing. Responsible for engineering related activities including developing, planning, supervising, performing, and coordinating a broad range of engineering activities. This includes training, quality assurance, statistical analysis, diagnosis and troubleshooting of equipment and other related technical functions which will lend significant contribution to the organization and the achievement of its goals and objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Daily involvement and improvement of the pressing department including but not limited to powder metal characterization, die management & pressing support
Process support: Inspection of critical characteristics, historical analysis of equipment operation, quality, etc.
Smart factory integration including process data, machine diagnostics and status reporting
Procedures, working instructions: Development, implementation, training, and auditing
Project Management: Lead new process introduction / qualification, capital projects, equipment installation, etc. at the Rogers, AR location
Problem Solving: Identify complex problems
Lead teams in a systematic approach to resolution using data-driven analysis / decision making
Follow-through actions through implementation and validation
Ability to develop understanding of complex and evolving processes as needed to lead, implement, and sustain systems improvements
Evaluate skill levels of technicians, develop training materials, coach and train multiple site team members for improving team and equipment performance
Involvement & coordination with global pressing competency team
Travel up to 10% to manufacturing sites as required by project and site requests
Requirements:
BS Engineering – Mechanical, Controls, Electrical, industrial, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or closely related science
Minimum of 3-7 years of related experience
3-7 years in R&D or Manufacturing environment
Experience with variety of manufacturing equipment, including fundamental understanding of operations, user interface, process controls and programming
Experience with automated material handling and robotics, including process controls, inspection and programming
Exposure to safety guidelines & job safety analysis
Teamwork and Communication: Able to work well in a team environment and effectively communicate throughout organization
Data analysis and related software (i.e. Minitab, Power BI)
Automation Software (Siemens, Allen Bradley, ABB etc.)
Microsoft Office 365 suite
Must be legally authorized to work in the US and not require sponsorship now or in the future
Nice to have:
