Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the coordination of manufacturing processes for products to be produced in accordance with applicable quality and operational standards
  • Interacts on a daily basis with employees as well as individuals from other functional groups in order to ensure adequate process capability and execution is maintained for all existing and new products
  • Reviews all daily reports that list manufacturing yields of all production equipment operated on all shifts
  • Utilizes Kaizen, SAP, Excel, and Google Docs to assists management in collecting data and/or samples to analyze process trends, inefficient workflow, opportunities for waste elimination, etc… and updates standardized work processes and documentation, and in accordance with Lean principles
  • Identifies areas of concern whereby production equipment could be contributing to poor quality and/or the inability to meet yield expectations
  • Monitors and ensures the training and compliance to ISO procedures by overseeing training in ISO procedures among team members
  • Participates and lends assistance to other departments such as Research and Development and Engineering in the development and introduction of new equipment, work processes or products to manufacturing
  • Conducts written and/or verbal testing of employees for equipment or work process certification
  • Makes final determination on employee certification readiness
  • Utilizes specialized software program, KAIZEN, to monitor the number of accumulated hours of training on equipment or work processes prior to certification testing
  • Keeps informed of availability of materials, customer needs and quality control issues using proprietary computer software programs, visual inventory and daily summary reports issued by other departments
  • Utilizes Kaizen, SAP, Excel, and Google Docs to assists management in collecting data and/or samples to analyze trends in productivity, quality, safety, etc…in order to capture root cause issues
  • Maintains consistent participation on DMAIC, Rapid Response and Kaizen event teams as needed and assists in facilitating implementation of action items

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of the mechanical operation of all equipment within the business function to trouble shoot malfunctions with equipment
  • Basic knowledge of all work processes associated with production
  • Basic knowledge of computer software packages
  • Solid knowledge of principles of training adult learners
  • Ability to analyze, understand and interpret numerical reports detailing production yield
  • Acceptable training and experience include a high school diploma or equivalent

Nice to have

  • Additional course work in interaction management would be beneficial
  • Computer training in basic software packages would also be beneficial
  • ISO auditor training would be helpful
