Job Description

Compounds injectable formulations with strict adherence to standard operating procedures and cGMP requirements. Attention to detail / producing high-quality products is of upmost importance for this position. SHIFT: Monday-Friday 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Job Responsibility

  • Prepares batches in their entirety from non-sterile bulk powder to sterilized product utilizing the detailed batch records
  • Passes and maintains all Media Fill qualification requirements and authorized to compound and aseptically fill product
  • Setup, operate, and maintain cleanroom equipment
  • Maintains proper cleanroom etiquette at all times
  • Ability to gown/garb appropriately every time entering the cleanroom area
  • Daily/weekly/monthly cleaning of cleanroom areas. Cleans equipment and sterilizes glassware, tools, and devices according to documented methods
  • Utilizes designated electronic resources to document completion of tasks
  • Ability to learn and understand sterile compounding and cleanroom terminology (example: line of demarcation)
  • Stays up to date with all required competencies to include annual aseptic training and process qualifications along with any continuing education requirements to maintain licensure
  • Assists in managing inventory using best practices including FIFO/FEFO
  • Ensures confidentiality of Protected Health Information as per HIPAA requirements
  • Any other tasks or duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Technician experience preferred, but not required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Possess strong communication skills, be organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Interested candidates must be enthusiastic, professional and self-directed

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust as necessary a Kiefel machine using controls on an electrical control panel (HMI) or by making manual adjustments
  • Load and replenish production supplies (i.e. injection sites, tubing, PVC/Non-PVC roll stock and adhesive) at a rate consistent with production needs
  • Perform scheduled quality checks, disposition product, identify any deviations that may occur and take the appropriate action to include stopping production on the machine if necessary
  • Inspect finished product and ensure that the quality standards have been met
  • Load and secure finished product in mobile closets
  • Execute a machine changeover when assigned (material changeovers only)
  • Document required information on manufacturing logs and/or POMS system
  • Identify, correct or escalate any inefficiency in the machine's performance
  • Test, inspect and package Inter-Plant Shipping Orders (IPSO)
  • Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, or mechanical issues occur
