The Manufacturing Manager – Powertrain will lead manufacturing operations for the Powertrain area of our assembly plant. This role oversees both Operations and Manufacturing Engineering, ensuring world-class execution in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development. The Manufacturing Manager will serve as the key link between day-to-day production and long-term process improvement, driving operational excellence and supporting the company’s mission to deliver high-quality Electric Trucks at scale.
Job Responsibility:
Direct daily production for the Powertrain area, ensuring output meets schedule, quality specifications, and efficiency targets
Lead and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, team leads, and operators across multiple shifts
Drive a culture of safety-first, compliance, and accountability, ensuring adherence to all EHS standards
Manage production KPIs (OEE, FPY, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency) with clear problem-solving and escalation processes
Oversee process engineering and equipment performance for Powertrain assembly
Lead new process introduction, equipment commissioning, and continuous improvement projects
Partner with Design Engineering on Design for Manufacturing, ensuring new product launches are seamlessly integrated into production
Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to ensure smooth production flow and quick resolution of issues
Work with Program Management and NPI teams to deliver robust product launches on time
Collaborate with HR and Training to strengthen skills, cross-training, and workforce readiness
Foster a culture of problem-solving, lean manufacturing, and employee engagement
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field
10+ years of experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing
At least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of EV powertrain systems and assembly processes preferred
Demonstrated success managing both production and manufacturing engineering teams
Expertise in lean manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, or equivalent CI methodologies
Proven ability to lead through change, scale operations, and deliver results under pressure
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
