As a Manufacturing Key Operative - Facilities Maintenance, you’ll provide support to the multi-skilled engineers with the preparation and execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks, as well as undertake a variety of trained trade tasks including, but not limited to, joinery, painting, plumbing and mechanical work across the site.
Job Responsibility:
Use trained trade skills to complete all tasks assigned by a member of the management team
Deliver high standards of Workmanship and practical improvements to building fabric and the upkeep of the site facilities and amenities
Ensure full compliance with all operational standards/specifications/policy and procedures
Develop positive working relationships with all site based colleagues, identify work tasks and establish the best method to deliver
Proactively generate practical improvement ideas to increase asset performance to benefit the customer
Proactively identify tasks and agree with customer on how to deliver
Adhere to safe operating/working practices and raise near miss events through the site process
Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities undertaken with appropriate risk assessment completed
Ensure Site facilities are fully functional and maintained in line with the assigned planned maintenance schedule
Take a planned approach to maintenance tasks, proactively identifying maintenance required
Support a proactive culture of equipment focused improvement within the Engineering Team
Support the development of Risk Assessment and Method Statements for maintenance work
Ensure facilities including plant room areas, building fabric, and external areas are audit ready
Learning associated with site readiness for internal and external Food Safety/legal compliance audits (E.g. British Retail Consortium BRC, Health and Safety Executive HSE)
Identify improvements for which engineering funds are spent on maintenance
Generate and support proactive continuous improvement ideas that increase asset performance
Oversee and monitor performance of contractors on site
Work flexibly to support all areas of the business where required to ensure service levels are met
Requirements:
Some engineering related experience from a comparable role
Working knowledge of safe working practices / risk assessment
A trade qualification demonstrating competence in basic mechanical, plumbing or fabric work
Good time management and communication skills
Can comply with relevant site policies such as Health and Safety and Food Safety standards
