Job Description:

Well established company that has been a leading supplier of paper products to printing and packaging industries for over 50 years. The work environment is fast paced and fast moving. Frequently required to perform actions stooping, bending, balancing, grasping, standing, sitting, walking, opening, removing, sorting, moving, and handling of objects up to 50lbs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the upkeep and repair of both the building structure and the machinery used within the facility
  • Machine maintenance: Identifying and fixing malfunctions on production machinery like conveyor belts, assembly lines, pumps, and motors
  • Preventative maintenance: Performing routine inspections and servicing on equipment to prevent breakdowns and maximize lifespan
  • Building maintenance: Addressing issues with building systems like plumbing, electrical wiring, lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing the root cause of equipment problems and implementing solutions
  • Parts replacement: Ordering and installing replacement parts for machinery as needed
  • Carry out routine inspection of production machines for potential malfunctions, identify defective parts, and assess maintenance needs
  • Implement guidelines and follows safety rules during mechanical maintenance and use of tools
  • Responsible for maintaining mechanical/electrical inventory per the inventory spreadsheet
  • Work closely with outside contractors, both mechanical and electrical

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent understanding to be able to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems of all production equipment and limited facility functions (plumbing, electrical)
  • Needs to be able to source replacement components required for repairs
  • Must be able to communicate with vendors to locate parts, troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and machinery repair/maintenance manuals
  • Ample troubleshooting skills for prompt resolution of emergency malfunctions and repair needs
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude with experience working with heavy machinery, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a strong team spirit are essential
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to Read, write and communicate in English

Nice to have:

Experience in sheeting, coating, laminating, printing or in a similar industry is a plus
