Are you a process-driven professional with a knack for streamlining production and a passion for Lean Manufacturing? We are looking for a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Technologist to join our team in Guelph for a one-year contract. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the industrialization of new product launches and the implementation of high-impact cost-saving initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Process Optimization: Measure, analyze, and improve production processes with a heavy focus on product flow and line balancing
Standardization: Establish labor standards using MOST and time-study methods
develop Lean Manufacturing standards across the facility
Facility Design: Develop, revise, and implement equipment and process layouts using AutoCAD
Documentation: Create and maintain process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, Value Stream Maps, and detailed project timing plans
Project Management: Oversee the validation and verification of new processes to ensure they meet capability requirements
Collaboration: Work closely with production personnel to help identify and execute cost-saving and process improvement ideas
Requirements:
Education: Graduate of a recognized Engineering Technology program (College level)
Experience: 3–5 years of related experience in an automotive or aerospace manufacturing environment is preferred
Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and time/motion direct labor measurement
Core Knowledge: Proven understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts, PFMEA development, and Plant Layout design
Soft Skills: Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
must be a self-motivated communicator who thrives in high-pressure situations
Reliability: A proven track record of excellent performance, safety, and attendance
