Job Description:

Manufacturing Engineer position at Teradyne, Penang, onsite at Island Penang contract manufacturing site. Provides technical support to Contract Manufacturer for assembly processes, ECN implementation, troubleshooting, and quality improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide technical support to the Contract Manufacturer for executing the assembly processes, ECN implementation, troubleshooting production issues to meet defined standards of quality and on-time delivery, materials form-fit qualification, and evaluation
  • Identify critical manufacturing and quality issues and driving the CM partner to closure
  • Act as first point of contact and escalation for process/assembly related issues and provide deviation authorization as appropriate
  • Create, review, and coordinate Engineering Change Orders implementation with the CM partner and make process improvement recommendations
  • Act as primary interface with Teradyne NPI Ops team / Engineering team during release of new assemblies or revisions
  • Work with CM partner to drive operation improvement
  • Interact with field team and support driving improvement for field quality feedback
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in complex box build assembly, understanding technical drawings and SolidWorks would be an advantage
  • Must be able to interface and effectively communicate with technology and engineering departments to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Analytical, team player, mature thinking, organized and high sense of urgency
  • Flexible to work at multiple time zones

Nice to have:

Experience in complex box build assembly, understanding technical drawings and SolidWorks
