Job Description

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures for assemblies and equipment installation. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Requirements

  • Must have experience specifically in Vehicle systems (not structures, not composites)
  • Aviation experience required
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production planning
  • Experience with some combination of the following: experience with manufacturing processes and procedures including: assembly, machining, and electrical in several disciplines including metallics, machining, electrical harness fabrication and routing, systems installations, &/or final assembly operations
  • Previous experience developing visual work instructions for use in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Teamcenter and CATIA
  • 3 years of recent Catia V5 experience
  • 3 years of recent Teamcenter experience
  • 5 years of air vehicle systems experience required (hydraulics, fuel, electrical, propulsion, avionics, flight test, ground test, environmental control systems, etc.)
  • BS degree and 9-15 years of experience or MS degree and 7-13 years of experience
