This role will oversee drawing reviews, CapEx planning, and automation feedback for Forging as part of the Factories as a Service team. You’ll be able to review drawings for manufacturability rapidly, select the right CapEx for part numbers and assemblies, advise our automation team on forging best practices, and have a deep working knowledge of production and inspection methods for Forging. This role will both assist in building new factories for existing production scope, as well as contribute to the manufacturing processes of new products where Forging is a designed-in function.
Job Responsibility:
Analyze customer drawings and current state of production to design, build, and guide automation of Forging DFM, Production, and Inspection Lines
Contribute as a key player in factories as a service efforts
Deliver cost/schedule/solutions in partnership with our customers and the Federal team
Own CapEx planning, vendor selection, and costing
Oversee drawing reviews, CapEx planning, and automation feedback for Forging as part of the Factories as a Service team
Review drawings for manufacturability rapidly, select the right CapEx for part numbers and assemblies, advise our automation team on forging best practices
Have a deep working knowledge of production and inspection methods for Forging
Assist in building new factories for existing production scope, as well as contribute to the manufacturing processes of new products where Forging is a designed-in function
Analyze drawings at a technical level, as well as plan for forging lines or factories from scratch
Requirements:
SME with deep expertise in forging production and inspection
Able to travel ~25% to DOD and prime facilities
Able to analyse DFM, and design/plan production and inspection lines for Forging
Prior experience standing up new Forging lines in Aerospace, Automotive or other domains
Ability to move quickly and make risk-adjusted decisions
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Nice to have:
Software or automation experience is not required, but helpful
Working knowledge of forging technology and CapEx
