The Manufacturing – Technical Support Senior Competency Engineer plays a critical technical leadership role within XT (DUV) manufacturing operations in Linkou, serving as a senior system-level technical authority and issue owner for complex, high-impact, and recurring production disturbances across mature XT (DUV) platforms. The position drives technical assessments, troubleshooting strategies, and technical decision-making under production pressure, while acting as a technical control tower that integrates inputs from Development & Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technical Support teams to enable structured problem-solving, effective escalation handling, and factory-level technical alignment. Due to the nature of factory operations and escalation support, this role requires participation in rotating shifts, including evening shifts up to 01:00.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead XT (DUV)-related technical assessments during daily passdown, DRB, and escalation meetings
  • Act as technical decision owner for complex, cross-domain XT system issues under production pressure
  • Consolidate technical findings, risks, and recommendations into clear, management-ready conclusions
  • Own high-impact, recurring, and long-duration disturbances impacting XT manufacturing output, quality, or delivery
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources across Development & Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Technical Support Engineers, and Production Engineers
  • Identify escalation triggers, risk exposure, containment actions, and prevention strategies to minimize downtime and prevent issue recurrence
  • Perform system-level and structural analysis to identify root causes and systemic gaps
  • Drive the development, validation, and deployment of Best-Known Methods (BKM)
  • Ensure improvements are standardized and sustainably implemented across XT manufacturing lines
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving methodology coaching to peers
  • Support management decision-making through clear, data-driven technical communication
  • Ensure technical decisions align with factory targets, quality standards, and long-term XT system robustness
  • Leverage XT manufacturing insights to prevent repeated disturbances across shifts, lines, or factories
  • Respond rapidly to customer feedback, quality notifications, and urgent XT-related production issues
  • Support factory and business priorities through rapid, structured technical assessments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or related disciplines
  • 8+ years of experience in semiconductor, electronics, or precision equipment industries
  • Experience acting as a senior technical contributor, issue owner, or technical focal point in production or system environments
  • Strong ability to structure complex problems, assess risk, and drive technical decisions under time and production pressure
  • Good English communication skills for technical discussion, reporting, and escalation meetings

Nice to have:

  • Experience with semiconductor equipment platforms
  • Background in 1st-line or 2nd-line technical support, manufacturing engineering, or system-level roles
  • Experience handling escalations, recurring disturbances, or long-duration production issues
  • Experience leading technical projects, mentoring engineers, or acting as a technical lead is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with structured RCA, change management, or continuous improvement initiatives
