As a Buyer, your mission is to ensure a consistent and sustainable supply of raw materials to meet production demands and support the sites’ production schedule. They play a key role in developing operational buying capabilities through supplier management, process improvement, and team collaboration to strengthen the department’s ability to support business needs.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the procurement of raw materials to ensure consistent supply aligned with production schedules
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating terms and monitoring performance to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability
Collaborate cross-functionally with planning, production, and commercial teams to align purchasing activities with business needs and strategic goals
Support the development of operational buying processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements
Requirements:
Strong buying or procurement experience
Exceptional Stakeholder Management skills
Strong Planning, Organisational and Time Management skills
Strong Analytical skills with a methodical approach to Problem Solving
Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills, both internally and externally
Flexible and capable of working in a complex environment
Ability to build and maintain rapport with internal and external customers / suppliers
Strong Excel and Microsoft office suite skills
Commercial awareness to make appropriate decisions balancing potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers
