We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Associate in our Forge Department at the Bakers facility in Monroe, NC. You will play a valuable role performing a variety of tasks within the department such as operating the furnaces, cut-off saw, grinder, Glama, forklift, and crane as you acquire skills on the shop floor through cross training and job rotations. A successful associate will be able to show attention to detail, be able to follow written and multiple instructions and would require that you demonstrate independence and motivation. You would be responsible for setting up and operating machines safely within the standard operating procedures, detecting faulty equipment and defective material. Job Responsibility:
Operating the furnaces, cut-off saw, grinder, Glama, forklift, and crane
Setting up and operating machines safely within the standard operating procedures
Detecting faulty equipment and defective material
Marking dimensions and using correct measuring tools such as tape measures
Adherence to all safety policies, practices, and procedures
Working from mill orders and procedures to obtain specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and other instructions to meet customer specifications
Maintaining all required work and material identification
Verifying data collection to maintain logs, records and other paperwork that is required
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience
Basic computer skills
Basic math skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Ability to follow written and multiple instructions
