A progressive manufacturing organization within the industrial electrification and material handling space is seeking a Manufacturing Area Supervisor to lead second shift production operations. This role is responsible for driving team performance, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and improving operational efficiency across the production floor. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance floor supervision with operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and supervise daily manufacturing operations to meet production and shipment targets
Develop and manage production schedules, workforce allocation, and inventory flow
Recruit, train, and develop production team members to support performance and growth
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, quality procedures, and workplace safety regulations
Partner with engineering, sales, and external vendors to resolve product and quality issues
Coordinate engineering change orders and maintain accurate production documentation
Monitor production metrics and implement strategies to improve efficiency and throughput
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing and 5S practices
Conduct safety audits and reinforce a culture of workplace safety
Provide hands-on support on the production floor as needed
Requirements:
Prior experience in a manufacturing supervisory or leadership role required
Experience working within an ISO-certified environment strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of: Production scheduling and inventory control
Process documentation and standard operating procedures
Root cause analysis and quality issue resolution
Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
Associate's degree in Industrial Technology or related field preferred, equivalent experience considered
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
