As part of the talented Mercury Racing team, you will manage production related functions involved in engine assembly and other operations; in addition to supporting production processes and developing and maintaining equipment and procedures. You will support and connect with all supporting functions (Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Quality Control) as needed to support the continuous operation of the assembly lines. Responsibilities extend through both the current product lines as well as proposed new product lines. Apply Lean Six Sigma methodology to achieve goals and implement all activities across departments. Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions through listening, engaging employees and problem solving. Act as the company conduit for employee communications to keep employees abreast of news and information. Job Responsibility:

Support safety initiatives and improvement of safety metrics through culture
Manage production operations utilizing Lean principles
Reduce product costs through productivity and quality improvements
Implement changes or systems for new products and product quality
Provide leadership for production operations and mentor / develop supervisors and team members
Identify issues, gather input from team members and solve problems with recommendations and solutions
Maintain final product quality standards and facilitate implementation of improved quality standards
Provide appropriate training to plant personnel to assure their continued development
Conduct timely performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to direct team
Manage performance to budget
Communicate information about departmental, facility and company events, changes, activities, policies, news, and updates to Supervisors, Group Leads, and team members
Ensure a positive approach to employee relations for all employees
Maintain effective lines of communication with employees, leads and support staff
Build rapport and influence others in a positive manner
Administer all policies and procedures as established fairly and consistently
Lead by example

Develop and implement best practices across assembly operations
Lead projects for new product launches and process improvements
Analyze production data and troubleshoot process/equipment issues
Apply Lean tools to support safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals
Maintain process documentation and support ergonomic and safety initiatives
Support new product development with efficient production systems
Design layouts using CAD for optimal workflow
Collaborate with internal/external customers and suppliers to resolve issues
Develop equipment specs, qualify processes, and support deployment
Liaise with Engineering and Program Management to meet business goals
Serve as subject matter expert on key processes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or Technology related program
8 - 10 years’ experience in the production environment, including previous supervisory responsibility
Proficiency in Lean tools, techniques and applying in manufacturing
Proven ability to drive results through leadership influence
Must have excellent verbal, written, listening, and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively among all levels of an organization
Demonstrated organizational skills and consistent follow through
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and adapt to changing situations
Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent 2D drafting software is desired
Basic understanding of cost accounting concepts, techniques, and principles
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and documents
Nice to have:
Formal Lean Six Sigma Green / Black belt certification
Solid comprehension and listening skills
Excellent analytical and data analysis skills, careful attention to detail and accuracy
Self-motivated, self-directed, results-oriented, and capable of working independently within deadlines
