Job Description:

Operates manual grinding tools to smooth, shape, and finish metal parts, ensuring they meet quality standards and work orders while maintaining a safe and organized shop environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operate manual grinding tools to smooth, shape, and finish metal parts
  • Remove burrs, rough edges, and excess material to meet specifications
  • Inspect parts for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet blueprints or work orders
  • Maintain grinding equipment and work area in a clean, safe condition
  • Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Proficient with hand tools and grinders for metal finishing
  • Attention to detail to ensure parts meet specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or work orders
  • Strong hand-eye coordination for precise grinding work
  • Knowledge of safety practices in a metal fabrication environment
  • Teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with coworkers and supervisors
