Managing Quantity Surveyor for the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) Framework, supporting the delivery of a range of exciting schemes running until mid-2029. Responsible for managing and controlling all commercial aspects of the project, ensuring accurate reporting, subcontract management, risk mitigation, and cost efficiency. Supervise, support, and develop a team of surveyors, while providing guidance on commercial strategy and best practice.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage the commercial performance of Target Cost contracts
Provide accurate financial reporting on individual projects and across your remit
Place and manage subcontracts in line with main contract requirements and company policies
Monitor subcontractor and internal performance against programme and budget
Ensure accurate and consistent forecasting and reporting across projects
Implement and monitor commercial systems and procedures
Advise surveyors on maximising value and minimising costs
Lead on risk management and support project teams with commercial decision-making
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of surveyors, setting and monitoring objectives
Support training, development, and succession planning within your team
Ensure compliance with Morgan Sindall standards, health and safety requirements, and industry best practice
Requirements:
NEC3 options A,B and C experience
Experience managing the periodic monthly cycle including client month end reporting, internal CVR, change management upstream and downstream, cost management, and cash management
Demonstrated ability to consolidate multi-scheme reports into clear, concise executive summaries
Proven record of managing team deliverables under tight deadlines to meet critical reporting milestones
Strong understanding of process governance and control frameworks ensuring consistency and accuracy
Skilled in designing, producing, and standardising reporting templates and dashboards for scalable use
Proficient in conducting detailed financial analysis to assess cost efficiency and value generation
Capable of managing forecasts and providing analytical insights supporting strategic decision-making
Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas such as SUMIF, SUMPRODUCT, IF/AND, and pivot tables
Strong understanding of contract structures with the ability to negotiate terms and conditions effectively
Nice to have:
Experience in creating interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI is preferred
