Job Description

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor for XEIAD, part of BES Infrastructure, you will be responsible for the commercial administration and management of assigned contracts. Leading by example, you will encourage positive contract management and commercial behaviours throughout the operational delivery teams leading to ongoing improvements in delivery performance and profitability.

Job Responsibility

  • Commercial administration and management of assigned contracts
  • Encourage positive contract management and commercial behaviours
  • Processing sub-contractor and supplier accounts
  • Managing payment of sub-contractor invoices and processing certificates
  • Preparing application for payments and invoices for allocated contracts
  • Ensuring accuracy of pricing and costing of annual contract workbanks
  • Providing regular commercial reports and supporting preparation of weekly P&L accounts
  • Maximising strategic supply chain value through structured procurement
  • Supporting pre-contract negotiations
  • Managing a small Commercial Team with line management responsibility

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 5 qualification in Business Management, Quantity Surveying or Finance
  • Substantial experience in Finance, Commercial or Contract Management
  • Knowledge of supply chain procurement processes including appointment and management of multiple delivery partners
  • Familiarity with Finance systems (experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O desirable)
  • Experience submitting Application for Payments and processing monthly CVRs
  • UK Driving License

Nice to have

  • Chartered Member of RICS
  • Previous experience working in the Rail industry

  • Responsible for the application schedule of rates, acting as a subject matter expert for contractual arrangements
  • Maximise cash flow through monthly invoicing, the implementation of appropriate procedures to resolve client queries and ensuring cash is received when due
  • Monitoring and analysis of management information and job cost against job revenue, supporting the operations and finance and enablement of data driven decision making
  • Point of contact for dispute resolution
  • Ensure Accurate Cashflow Forecasts and Revenue profiles are in place and are accurate and updated regularly
  • Prepare and produce financial reports, including Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR), Cost Value Comparison (CVC) and management accounts, providing governance of budgets through robust cost control
