Title: Managing Director, SEO. Location: United States, Remote. Duration: Full Time, Direct Hire. Industry: Integrated Marketing and Digital Agency. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Provide senior leadership for the SEO department, setting direction, priorities, and standards. Manage and mentor senior SEO leaders, including Directors and Senior Managers. Act as executive sponsor on key client relationships and step in on escalations when needed. Provide strategic SEO guidance across a large and varied client portfolio (SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise). Ensure SEO strategies align to broader business and marketing goals for clients. Scope and support new business opportunities, including participating in pitches and expansion conversations. Drive innovation in modern search, including AI Search Optimization (AIO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). Partner with internal leadership on financial performance, retention, and growth of the SEO practice. Improve processes, frameworks, and ways of working to support scale and consistency. Collaborate cross-functionally with Paid Media, Content, Design, and Development teams. Ensure quality and consistency across SEO strategy, execution, and client deliverables.
