The Managing Director – Private Markets is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing Waystone's global private markets product strategy and go-to-market model, with a focus on private equity, private credit and real asset managers. The role will mobilise Waystone's global platform to deliver a compelling, integrated value proposition across regulated fund solutions, including management company services, governance oversight, distribution enablement, and fund administration. This leader will drive commercial growth, strategic partnerships, and market positioning, ensuring Waystone captures a significant share of the rapidly expanding global private markets sector.
Job Responsibility:
Define and execute Waystone's global private markets growth strategy across private equity, private credit and real assets
Identify priority client segments, geographies, and product opportunities across Europe, The United States and other international markets
Develop a differentiated market positioning for Waystone's private markets solutions business
Represent Waystone as a thought leader across the global private markets ecosystem
Shape the end-to-end product offering for private markets managers across the lifecycle of a fund
Integrate Waystone's capabilities across: Management company services, Governance and regulatory oversight, Distribution enablement, Fund & corporate administration
Develop clear value propositions tailored by client segment
Ensure product innovation remains aligned with regulatory trends and evolving investor demands
Identify areas of opportunity and vulnerability through evolving cycles
Create a defined plan around retailisation of private markets for Waystone
Establish specific Private Market revenue target goals for Waystone
Drive new client acquisition and revenue growth across private markets
Partner with the global client coverage and sales teams to originate and close new mandates
Lead strategic pursuits with key global asset managers
Build a sustainable pipeline of private markets opportunities
Convert strategic wins into long-term client relationships and recurring revenue streams
Mobilise Waystone's global service platform to deliver coordinated client solutions
Lead cross-functional collaboration across product, operations, governance, compliance, and administration teams
Manage and inspire both direct teams and virtual global teams supporting private markets initiatives
Ensure consistent client delivery across regions and service lines
Represent Waystone at industry events, conferences, and strategic forums
Build relationships with private markets sponsors, institutional investors, and industry influencers
Originate and manufacture thought leadership
Provide strategic leadership and direction for Waystone's private markets business
Foster a culture of entrepreneurship, collaboration, and commercial accountability
Align teams across regions around a shared private markets growth agenda
Mentor and develop senior talent across the private markets ecosystem
Requirements:
Significant senior leadership experience within private markets, fund services, or asset management
Proven track record of winning mandates from private markets managers
Deep understanding of private equity, private credit and real asset structures
Experience selling regulated fund solutions and governance platforms
Strong network within the global private markets ecosystem
Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong commercial instinct
Ability to articulate a compelling value proposition across complex service platforms
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams
Skilled at mobilising matrix organisations and cross-border teams
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market trends into growth opportunities
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering or a related field (MBA preferred)
