Job Responsibility

  • Serve as the Portfolio Management sector lead and subject matter expert for Energy Project Finance, owning sector views, portfolio strategy, and emerging risk themes
  • Lead underwriting and structuring of complex project finance transactions, acting as a senior decision-maker and partner to Banking and Risk through deal execution
  • Oversee credit risk management and portfolio performance across a diverse set of sponsor-owned and corporate-backed energy assets
  • Own the end-to-end credit lifecycle, including underwriting, risk ratings, covenant compliance, watchlist governance, and early identification of emerging risks
  • Lead engagement with Independent Risk Management on complex credits, shaping risk framing and driving alignment on underwriting decisions
  • Partner closely with Corporate Banking, Asset Finance, and Industry coverage teams to support client needs and drive disciplined growth
  • Engage directly with clients, sponsors, and developers as appropriate, representing Portfolio Management in transaction discussions and relationship development
  • Drive preparation of executive-level materials and portfolio reviews for senior leadership, clearly articulating risk, key issues, and sector trends
  • Lead and develop a team of portfolio managers, setting execution standards and ensuring consistent application of underwriting and portfolio management best practices
  • Act as a trusted advisor across the platform and a key thought partner to the Head of Portfolio Management in setting priorities, evolving the operating model, and driving team performance

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in project finance, corporate banking, or portfolio management, with a focus on energy, power, or infrastructure sectors
  • Significant experience in underwriting and structuring project finance transactions
  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience

Nice to have

  • Deep experience across energy project finance, primarily renewables, as well as conventional power, and/or energy infrastructure
  • Strong credit acumen, including financial analysis, cash flow modeling, structuring considerations, and risk assessment for complex transactions
  • Proven ability to operate as a senior leader, influencing outcomes across Banking, Risk, and executive stakeholders
