Working as one of the most senior fee earners in a Partner led team to provide strong technical legal advice, coupled with effective team management. Key focus will be on client relationship management and business development.
Job Responsibility:
Provide technically accurate, complex legal advice to clients, demonstrating a high standard of professional knowledge
Work as a subject matter expert covering all aspects of Cayman Islands investment funds and funds regulatory work
Act as the day-to-day matter manager on key client relationships, being responsive and available
Contribute to the development of firm views, knowhow and precedents covering core technical matters of law and practice
Oversee quoting and scoping of new legal engagements
Meet Key Performance Indicators relating to time recording, billing and collection of fees
Establish, build and maintain productive working relationships with clients, acting as an authority in the area of expertise, both internally and externally
Develop and provide a culture of service excellence within the team and jurisdiction, ensuring that the highest quality of work is achieved consistently and efficiently in all areas
Generate business from both new and existing clients, via effective internal and external business development activities and striving to develop the Ogier brand
Responsible for the management, performance, technical training and development of direct reports in conjunction with the Partner
Provide effective leadership, drive and motivation
projecting a credible image that inspires confidence
Encourage teamwork at all levels to achieve personal, team and group objectives
Contribute to internal projects (including any initiatives identified and designated by Heads of Service Line, Partners or Director of Business Development)
Requirements:
Qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) in law specialising in investment funds, serving top tier investment managers and PE sponsors
LLB (Hons) from a reputable tertiary institution with a minimum grade of 2:1 (or equivalent) and strong academics
Strong team and relationship building, negotiation, presentation, communication and leadership skills
Ability to inspire and develop others
Ability to formulate, consider and select the most appropriate solutions
Be results-driven with a high level of business acumen and commerciality
