Job Description:

As the Underground Manager, you will lead the onsite restart and ramp-up of the underground mine at the Mount Marion Operation, guiding it to steady-state production. This position will commence based out of our Head Office in Osborne Park, transitioning to onsite FIFO based from mid-year 2026 pending project ramp-up schedules. In this pivotal role, you will ensure statutory compliance, efficient contractor management, operational readiness and the development of a high‑performing onsite technical team. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Projects and Planning – Lithium, you will establish and implement processes that deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable production outcomes, supporting MinRes’ rapidly growing position in the lithium sector.

Job Responsibility:

  • Fulfil statutory responsibilities as the appointed Underground Manager
  • Lead day‑to‑day contractor management of underground service providers
  • Develop and implement operational readiness plans for steady‑state underground production
  • Safely deliver underground mine physicals, costs, infrastructure plans and schedules
  • Support underground mining studies, LOM/5YP budgeting, geotechnical assessments, feasibility studies, equipment selection, and mine design
  • Collaborate with corporate commercial and technical teams to execute contracting strategies and deliver mine plans
  • Manage processes relating to external approvals and licences for the underground project
  • Foster positive, productive relationships with contractors to achieve project objectives
  • Champion a safety first culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures and regulations

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining) or equivalent
  • WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
  • Strong background in underground mining, ideally large‑scale mechanised long‑hole stoping with pastefill operations
  • Experience ramping up underground projects and building onsite teams and processes
  • Proven contractor management, performance monitoring and compliance capability
  • Demonstrated experience in operational and technical team leadership
  • Familiarity with relevant mining software and technologies
  • Experience holding statutory Underground Manager responsibilities
  • Growth mindset with strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Confident decision‑making under limited information to progress the project
