Job Description:

Drive Trade and Access strategy by leveraging a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical trade environment in Japan and globally. With a mid-to-long-term perspective on pipeline and strategy, this role acts as the Project Manager for high-impact initiatives like OneTrade and other global trade projects. You will align cross-functional efforts across Commercial, Market Access, and Finance teams, crafting innovative trade solutions and delivering impactful outcomes to ensure sustainable business growth. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead transformative projects at the forefront of trade and access strategy, fostering collaboration and innovation to achieve business excellence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze the trade and access environment in Japan and other countries, integrating insights into mid-to-long-term pipeline and strategy
  • Understand brand strategy and NHI pricing positioning for both inline and pipeline products
  • Conduct local market analysis and develop winning strategies for trade success
  • Explore and leverage the unique strengths of different wholesalers to strategize new solutions, maximizing sales in collaboration with relevant groups
  • Manage strategic trade projects, including OneTrade and other global initiatives, ensuring effective execution and providing valuable input to stakeholders
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive trade strategy internally and externally, ensuring alignment across the Commercial, Market Access, and Finance teams
  • Serve as the central point of contact for cross-departmental coordination, including working with Global Teams on ad hoc and special projects

Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • In-depth knowledge of Japan’s pharmaceutical trade environment and the National Health Insurance system
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA is preferred
  • Logical, forward-thinking mindset with strong strategic and analytical skills
  • Financial acumen to navigate complex trade and pricing scenarios
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills in both Japanese and English (business level)
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and align cross-functional teams for project success
