Job Description:

As a Manager Territory Sales you will develop and maintain branded customer relations within the South Central territory (North Texas, East Texas, West Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Colorado).

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop productive working relationships with both existing and new customers, market pricing strategies, inventory management procedures, and branded program understanding and territory participation
  • Observe competitive activities

  • Seek out and analyze new customers and market expansion opportunities
  • Develop an understanding of the market factors affecting the profitability of branded marketing
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence to branded pricing functions, through frequent contact with customers, industry counterparts, and industry information sources
  • Become knowledgeable concerning the physical and operational characteristics of the Valero products distribution system
  • Develop an understanding of the market factors affecting the profitability of branded marketing and keeps informed of market intelligence and industry trends through frequent contact with customers, industry counterparts and industry information sources
  • Evaluate any applicable capital/investment opportunities-upgrades, replacements, maintenance needs
  • Perform special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 10+ years of experience in refining and/or petroleum sales or relevant experience in sales or marketing to include brand management/construction, trading, or scheduling required
  • 3+ years of experience in oil and gas or retail fuels sales required
  • Able and willing to travel about 25% of time to manage and support assigned territory activity required
  • Able and willing to live within one of the following areas to support assigned territory required: North Texas, West Texas, East Texas or Oklahoma
  • Able and willing to support assigned territory sales operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays, as needed, required

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in branded or unbranded gas or diesel sales
