Global Sustainability oversees HSBC’s global philanthropic programmes - which focus on education and the environment. Global sustainability also oversees the Bank's philanthropic donations, as philanthropy forms an integral component of HSBC's approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the implementation of philanthropic projects in Hong Kong supported by the Hongkong Bank Foundation in collaboration with charity partners, to maximise the impact of the Foundation’s work and to ensure that the projects are evaluated, reported and communicated as appropriate
  • Engage and onboard suitable charity partners according to the funding strategy of the Foundation, in consultation with the Foundation’s advisory committee and its trustee, and in strict adherence to the Global Sustainability Philanthropy Manual, promoting long-term partnership with charity partners and ensuring risks and opportunities are managed
  • Manage the HSBC Scholarship Scheme in coordination with tertiary institutions and implementation partners, aiming to nurture a network of talented individuals who contribute to Hong Kong’s future development and wellbeing
  • Promote and operationalise employee participation in community services through the HSBC Volunteers Scheme, working with the Bank’s senior leaders, volunteer leads, employee groups and various lines of business
  • Participate in and support cross-functional stakeholder engagements, such as those related to communication initiatives, delivery of key events (such as the annual HSBC Hong Kong Community Festival, and the HSBC Volunteer Appreciation Dinner) in liaison with internal and external partners, as well as forums and conferences led by community stakeholders
  • Support the Global Philanthropy team on global and regional initiatives, and provide subject matter expertise to other HSBC offices as required, in support of HSBC’s global strategic priorities on Philanthropy

Requirements:

  • Significant years of relevant work experience, including work experience in a complex and dynamic commercial organisation
  • The ability to prioritise, multitask, manage risk, and adapt to changing business needs will be essential
  • Domain knowledge related to corporate philanthropy and a focus area of HSBC’s philanthropy strategy a plus
  • Excellent communications skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese)
  • A strong passion in making a positive change for the team and the wider community
What we offer:
  • Continuous professional development
