Job Responsibility:
Lead the development and continuous refinement of a comprehensive five-year strategic plan for Bombardier Defense
Ensure the plan clearly articulates strategic priorities, long-term business objectives, strategic initiatives, and investment priorities
Structure the strategic planning process and ensure alignment across all functional areas
Facilitate strategic planning workshops and alignment sessions
Translate strategic priorities into clearly defined, structured, and measurable strategic initiatives
Support the definition of roadmaps, timelines, and success metrics for major initiatives
Monitor progress of strategic initiatives and support leadership in addressing execution challenges
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and coherence in implementation
Support strategic initiatives tied to potential corporate collaboration discussions, including strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and industrial cooperation agreements
Provide strategic support to M&A activities including target screening, strategic fit assessments, and due diligence preparation
Design and implement a structured, gated decision-making framework to evaluate new business opportunities, including new products, new applications, and entry into new market segments
Define clear qualification, evaluation, and approval criteria for each gate to ensure disciplined progression of opportunities and alignment with strategic priorities
Partner with Finance and functional leaders to support the development of annual and multi-year budgets aligned with strategic initiatives and investment priorities
Monitor budget execution against plan, identify variances, and provide insights and recommendations to ensure financial discipline and optimal resource utilization
Support leadership in prioritizing initiatives based on strategic value, ROI, risk profile, and organizational capacity
Manage, coach, and develop a team of strategic analysts
Define analytical standards, methodologies, and deliverables
Set priorities and performance expectations for the team
Foster a high-performance culture focused on strategic thinking and accountability
Requirements:
Master’s degree in business, Strategy, Engineering, Finance, or related field
MBA preferred
7–10 years of experience in strategic planning, corporate strategy, or management consulting
Demonstrated experience leading multi-year strategic planning processes (3–5 year horizon)
Experience managing and developing analytical teams
Experience in M&A, corporate development, or strategic transactions is a strong asset
Experience in the defense or aerospace industry is highly desirable
Strong ability to structure strategy into actionable plans and initiatives
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
