Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to partner closely with our R&D and Operations teams at a high growth pre-IPO startup, as part of Verkada’s growing Strategic Finance & Business Operations team. You will have a broad scope managing investments across (and being a strategic thought partner to) our Software & Hardware Engineering, Product, Design, Supply Chain, Fulfillment, Services, and Support teams. This role will report directly to the VP of Strategic Finance & Business Operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Be the primary business partner to our various R&D and Operations orgs, including owning all budgeting and planning in these areas
  • Understand and closely manage all of the critical inputs to our gross margins
  • Drive a deeper understanding of the fully loaded investment and profitability of each of our product families
  • Assist with product roadmap planning, new product launch initiatives, and cross-functional coordination across Engineering, Product, and Design

Requirements:

  • 6-10+ years of progressive high growth experience
  • Experience from a Growth, Strategic Finance, Business Operations, or other highly analytical role at a fast growing startup
  • Background may have begun in investing, management consulting, and/or investment banking
  • Prior experience closely partnering with technical teams is a plus
  • High analytical horsepower paired with strong modeling and data skills
  • Fluency in database concepts, SQL, and modern BI tools is a big plus
  • Attention to detail and strong strategic instincts
  • A growth mindset and comfort with ambiguity
  • Excellent communication and partnership skills
  • A team player with a low "ego to smarts ratio"
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week
  • Must be independently authorized to work in the U.S.
