Job Description

As a Sterile Processing Manager, manage activities related to sterile processing. Ensure compliance with all processes. Oversee multiple sites and manage large teams to ensure industry standards are followed.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee sterile processing, ensure equipment is decontaminated and sterilized efficiently, and manage surgical supply purchase and distribution
  • Direct your team, making recommendations on hiring, firing, reviews, training, delegation, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure supplies, instruments, and equipment are restocked accurately and timely
  • Clean specialty carts daily
  • Oversee preventive maintenance of equipment as per guidelines to maintain excellent standards
  • Ensure all equipment is working
  • Collaborate with surgeons and other departments, verifying that set-ups for instrumentation are accurate and appropriate
  • Help create communications, training, and onboarding programs for product use and services
  • Help develop policies for sterile processing to control infection risks
  • Monitor staff compliance with regulatory requirements during decontamination

Requirements

  • Completion of an associate degree or, alternatively, 2 years of relevance in work experience above the minimum requirement
  • Minimum 3 years of prior work experience in a similar field
  • Must have one of the following: LVN, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Certified Board Sterile Pricing & Dist (CBSPD), Certified Sterile Proc/Distr Tech (CSPDT), Sterile Processing Mgmt Certification (CSPM), or Certified Reg Central Service Tech through IAHCSMM (CRCST)
