The Manager – Manufacturing Engineering / Industrial Engineering will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of jigs, fixtures, special-purpose machines (SPMs), welding fixtures, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures , inspection automations, packing automations to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality. The role also requires expertise in industrial engineering methodologies, including time study, work-study, production norm establishment, Methods-Time Measurement (MOST), ergonomics, and SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Die). The ideal candidate will have a background in automation, machine tool building, and process optimization, ensuring that manufacturing processes are streamlined, cost-effective, and highly productive.
Job Responsibility:
Design, development, and implementation of jigs, fixtures, special-purpose machines (SPMs), welding fixtures, assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, inspection automations, packing automations to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of jigs, fixtures, and SPMs
Ensure the proper functionality and calibration of welding, assembly, and inspection fixtures
Identify opportunities for inspection and packing automation to reduce manual intervention
Work with production teams to validate new fixtures and ensure process compatibility
Conduct time studies and work studies to analyze and improve work methods
Establish and refine production norms based on Methods-Time Measurement (MOST)
Monitor and enhance ergonomics in workstations to improve operator efficiency
Implement Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) principles to reduce setup times
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in manufacturing processes
Develop and implement automation solutions for repetitive or labor-intensive tasks
Evaluate and optimize machine tools for better accuracy, speed, and reliability
Work on custom-built SPMs to enhance productivity in key operations
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for new automation and tooling solutions
Analyze process inefficiencies and propose engineering solutions for cost reduction
Ensure all new process changes contribute to cost-effectiveness and quality enhancement
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste and improve efficiency
Maintain data-driven decision-making for continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement improvements
Work closely with design and R&D teams for new product manufacturability
Engage with external vendors for procurement and development of advanced technologies
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) like cycle time reduction, defect rates, and setup time improvements
Prepare daily reports on tooling efficiency, automation effectiveness, and production impact
Maintain detailed documentation of modifications, improvements, and new implementations
