We’re seeking a Manager, Software Engineering to lead a talented team of software engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining AbsenceSoft’s platform. In this role, you’ll combine strong technical expertise with people leadership to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions. You’ll drive collaboration across teams, foster innovation, and create an environment where engineers can do their best work while growing in their careers.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career development
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions
Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and other stakeholders to define project scope, priorities, and timelines
Drive agile development practices to ensure predictable delivery and continuous improvement
Review technical designs, code, and processes to uphold engineering standards and best practices
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
Manage team capacity, hiring, and resource planning to meet business needs
Participate in a highly compliant environment and help maintain company controls and security within your role
Requirements:
Proven experience leading software engineering teams in an agile environment
Strong technical background in modern software development (e.g., Java, .NET, cloud platforms, APIs)
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to balance technical detail with project delivery and business priorities
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
5–8 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
Experience with SaaS platforms, HR technology, or enterprise software
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure
Strategic thinker who empowers teams and fosters cross-functional collaboration
