Blackbaud is hiring a Manager of Software Development to cultivate and lead engineering teams that develop, test, deploy, and maintain Blackbaud’s products. This role will work to establish and adhere to engineering best practices, identify critical gaps in development processes, create and own strategic projects, and empower teams. They will lead by example and be an agent of innovation while inspiring those around them. They will develop employees through goal setting and coaching best practices and processes.
Job Responsibility:
Work in an agile development environment leading one or more engineering teams
Recruit and cultivate highly engaged teams by attracting high performing team members, coaching them on their career growth, and ensuring they are connected to the outcomes and purpose of their work
Manage performance of team members through goal setting and measurement, coaching, recognition, and feedback through regular one-on-one's and check-ins
Partner with Product Management to establish product objectives, prioritize team backlogs, and ensure engineering investment is represented and align on market needs and prioritization
Lead the continuous improvement of software development processes through collaboration with peers and architects
Requirements:
3+ years of experience managing software development teams in an agile environment
A history of delivering successful large-scale projects from inception to release
Experience working with a complex product portfolio across multiple teams
Demonstrative experience in software engineering best practices such as design patterns, decoupled architectures, test-driven development, and CI/CD pipelines
History of observing and considerately adopting contemporary software development technologies
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence
Able to work flexible hours as required by business priorities.
Nice to have:
Experience developing cloud solutions (Microsoft Azure or AWS) and an understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models
Experience with Microsoft Azure (AKS, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL), Azure DevOps, and Angular
Experience managing remote teams and team members both onshore and offshore
Experience delivering process and technology changes across disconnected teams and organizational boundaries
