Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Manager/ Manager, Financial Partnerships, LPMs, to expand and strengthen Airwallex’s global partner ecosystem. In this role, you will drive the development of our Local Payment Methods (LPMs) infrastructure across APAC, while managing key strategic relationships with financial institutions and payment partners. The ideal candidate is a proactive, creative problem-solver with deep experience in payments, financial services, and partnership management. You will have a proven track record working for an LPM or within a Payment Institution or PSP, building global financial partnerships, and driving strategy in fast-paced, high-growth environments. A strong understanding of LPMs, stakeholder management, and operational excellence is essential.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and lead the LPM partnership strategy for APAC (including Greater CN, KR, SEA) to support Airwallex’s global growth
  • Own and grow our most strategic partner relationships—serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring strong collaboration and commercial success
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to ensure Airwallex maintains a leadership position in global payments
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard new partners, driving the commercial and legal contracting process for local payment methods, schemes, and bank transfer solutions
  • Manage partner relationships and commercial growth, while proactively resolving complex operational escalations related to merchant onboarding, compliance, and transaction stability
  • Establish yourself as an industry thought leader, representing Airwallex in partner meetings, industry events, and forums

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with eWallets, BNPLs, PSPs, financial institutions, card schemes, or payment networks
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to build and maintain relationships
  • A good understanding of compliance and onboarding with global and regional LPMs
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams
  • International experience - working in multiple markets or managing cross-border relationships
  • A proven track record of working with technology-led businesses in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • You are an exceptional communicator – you’re able to connect with people at all levels, both internally and externally, and communicate project expectations effectively
  • You thrive under pressure – and work well with constant change and the ambiguity of a startup environment
  • You have strong negotiation skills – to navigate complex commercial discussions to ensure the best outcome for Airwallex
  • You’re a team player - work cohesively with colleagues from across the organization and be able to inspire a shared vision
