Job Description

We are seeking an experienced data science professional to play a pivotal role within the Big Data & AI community at VOIS. This role focuses on using advanced analytics and machine learning to generate actionable insights, improve decision-making, and enable innovation across Vodafone. The individual will work with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets, partner closely with business and technology teams, and help industrialise predictive and prescriptive solutions that address real-world business challenges.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyse large volumes of structured and unstructured data to test hypotheses, uncover patterns, and deliver actionable business insights
  • Design, develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models that support predictive and prescriptive decision-making
  • Build and maintain data visualisation dashboards to communicate insights clearly to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business problems into scalable analytical solutions
  • Contribute to and help shape the global analytics community, ensuring continuous improvement and adoption of leading-edge analytical techniques

Requirements

  • At least six years of hands-on experience developing analytical models using large-scale datasets in a commercial, consumer, or digital environment
  • Proficient in Python and PySpark, with end-to-end experience from problem definition through to production deployment
  • Strong grounding in statistical learning and machine learning techniques, including regression, tree-based models, clustering, NLP, deep learning, and reinforcement learning
  • Experienced with modern machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, MLlib, TensorFlow, PyTorch, H2O, and R
  • Knowledgeable in data warehousing and big data technologies, including SQL, NoSQL, Spark, and related ecosystems
  • Familiar with experimentation, A/B testing, and developing analytical reports and insights

Nice to have

  • Exposure to data visualisation tools such as Qlik, Shiny, Dash, D3, Tableau, or Power BI is valued
  • Experience with cloud platforms (ideally Google Cloud) and containerisation technologies is desirable
