Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Manager, Risk to lead a Contract assignment supporting organizational risk oversight in Roseville, California. This role is responsible for strengthening patient, visitor, staff, and property protection through proactive risk reduction strategies, responsive issue resolution, and sound program management. The ideal candidate will bring strong judgment, leadership capability, and a solid understanding of healthcare risk, compliance, and claims-related processes.

Job Responsibility

  • Direct the day-to-day administration of the risk management program and ensure practices support a safe healthcare environment
  • Design and carry out initiatives that reduce exposure to harm, liability, and property-related loss across the organization
  • Investigate escalated patient and visitor concerns that require attention beyond the department level and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions
  • Assess incidents, complaints, and potential claims to identify trends, determine risk impact, and recommend corrective measures
  • Guide and support assigned team members, providing oversight, direction, and performance leadership in daily operations
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to promote compliance and strengthen risk awareness throughout the organization
  • Contribute to claim review, documentation, reporting, and coordination related to liability matters, settlements, and other case activity
  • Prepare clear reports and analyses for leadership to support decision-making, regulatory readiness, and continuous improvement efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required
  • Master's degree is preferred
  • prior technical experience in risk management or a closely related healthcare function is preferred
  • previous leadership experience with responsibility for guiding staff or program activities is preferred
  • knowledge of healthcare risk principles, compliance practices, incident review, and claims administration is preferred
  • strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage sensitive concerns professionally
  • ability to analyze reports, evaluate evidence, and make sound recommendations using independent judgment
