The Retail Operations Manager supports North American retail store operations, ensuring consistent execution, operational excellence, and alignment with company strategy. This role establishes and enforces operational standards, owns inventory operations—including replenishment and accuracy—and ensures product availability while minimizing shrink and inefficiencies. The Retail Operations Manager drives timely, on-budget execution of operational initiatives, leads continuous process and system improvements in partnership with business and IT teams, and collaborates with senior leaders and global partners to implement key programs. Additionally, this individual leads a team responsible for managing retail data flow, ensuring stores receive accurate, timely information and tools to execute daily routines effectively, while overseeing end-to-end operational enhancements, including reporting, new solution rollouts, and system integrations.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and maintain implementation and communication plans for inventory management initiatives, ensuring successful execution with senior leadership
Serve as the business owner for in-store inventory management systems and processes, ensuring they meet daily operational requirements
Manage the backlog of system and process enhancements to continuously improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Create actionable deliverables, including implementation plans, workback schedules, impact assessments, readiness plans, and success metrics/KPIs
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with local and global stakeholders, vendors, and customers
Lead, develop, and manage the Business Solutions and Retail Data teams, including hiring, training, performance management, and coaching to ensure accountability and high-quality output
Oversee retail data integrity initiatives, providing accurate, timely, and actionable store-level data to support operations and decision-making
Contribute to global change initiatives, sharing expertise and best practices while coaching regional and global teams
Participate in global networks and cross-functional programs to support strategic operational initiatives
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university preferred, ideally in Business or a related field
5+ years of retail experience, preferably in the fashion or sporting goods industry
3–5 years of experience managing projects and operations, ideally related to process or program implementation
Experience in a retail store environment is required
Ability to work and travel as business demands, including overnight, weekends, holidays, up to 25% travel, including international travel
Ability to alternate between sitting and standing for extended periods
