Responsible for implementing strategic regulatory initiatives and developing and building key regulatory relationships that will enable the development of strong regulatory policy and drive regulatory successes. Works with various business partners across the Company to ensure that regulatory filings and external facing documents are in alignment with regulatory policy positioning.

Develop and build key regulatory relationships

Build and maintain strong relationships with key regulatory stakeholders
Identify opportunities to interact with key stakeholders and communicate the Company’s key initiatives
Evaluate regulatory and industry trends
Develop regulatory positions and new regulatory opportunities
Communicate regulatory model concepts to leadership
Execute regulatory policy for major concepts and filings
Work with internal and external partners on regulatory proposals for emerging policy issues
Lead internal project team meetings
Lead development of regulatory strategy
Coordinate cross-functional support
Take a leadership role in Emergency Response Activations
Provide prompt and accurate information to regulators
Review all informational responses submitted to regulators
Interact with Low Income Advocate, Business Advocates, and other key customer advocates
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline or related experience
Minimum of ten (10) or more years of experience successfully building relationships, leading change, and managing complex projects
Utility industry experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills
Organizational skills to lead multiple projects
Experience with building key relationships (externally and internally) and building credibility with key influencers
Thorough understanding of the policy initiative Regulators support
Strong analytical skills including experience using both qualitative principals and quantitative analysis to develop regulatory policy
Sound business judgment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong influencing skills
Work well across functional teams
Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
Travel is required
Attends to problems in off-hours and for extended periods as necessary
