As the Manager, Public Affairs – Policy Campaigns, you will be a critical member of the Government Relations organization, managing Aurora’s efforts to deepen relationships with third party organizations, build change-making issue-based campaigns, and curate high-impact experiences for government stakeholders - including demos, site-visits, and events. You will develop and execute integrated strategies that bring the Aurora Driver and its societal impacts to life - creating diverse, sustainable coalitions to influence policy outcomes, promoting narratives that support deployment of autonomous trucking, and engaging policy-makers to enhance Aurora’s reputation as the industry leader. You’ll work at the intersection of policy, coalitions, and events.
Job Responsibility:
Build relationships with third party allies and organizations in support of autonomous trucking
Run issue-based campaigns, targeting salient issues to help get the message out about the benefits of autonomous trucking
Organize and execute high-impact visits and other experiences (eg, vehicle demos and rides, convenings) focused on educating government and policy-relevant stakeholders
Conceptualize and deploy policy-relevant events at state Capitols, in DC, and other key venues to bring autonomous trucking to life with governments
Develop a consistent process for hosting policymakers, including roundtables and tours, with consistent branding, assets, and decks
Represent the company at key policy-relevant events and conferences, including dedicating time to strategic networking and supporting physical presence needs (e.g., supporting a booth/demo)
Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications function to develop engaging content for government audiences and to maintain brand integrity across content, engagements, and events
Requirements:
6+ years of public affairs experience, including expertise in policy, regulatory, or public affairs campaigns and events
Proven ability to build and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously, balancing immediate needs with long-term opportunities
Experience building events, experiences, and developing content in support of government relations and advocacy
Demonstrated ability to build diverse, sustainable, relevant coalitions that bring impactful engagement in policy and regulatory debates
Exceptional written and verbal communicator who can simplify complex policy and technical topics into bold, concise, and compelling narratives
