Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead Mastercard’s API Consultancy & Standards capability within the Developer Experience team. This role focuses on API governance and lifecycle management, ensuring Mastercard APIs meet global standards for security, usability, and performance. The position combines product management expertise with innovation, leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance developer experience and accelerate product delivery. This is a global role, working closely with engineering, product, and market teams to align priorities, address regional requirements, and deliver solutions that scale across diverse markets.

Job Responsibility

  • Drive and deliver the vision and roadmap for API governance and lifecycle management
  • Define product requirements and partner with the engineering team to execute the roadmap
  • Build tools and frameworks that simplify API design, enforce compliance, and improve performance across Mastercard’s ecosystem
  • Leverage AI-driven solutions to automate governance and enhance productivity
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure Mastercard APIs address real-world challenges and deliver exceptional developer experiences
  • Manage key touchpoints for API lifecycle, including internal reviews, onboarding, commercialization, and decommissioning
  • Ensure developer documentation meets Mastercard’s Gold Standards and supports developer-first design

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Advanced experience in product management, preferably in API platforms or developer tools
  • Strong understanding of API standards, governance, and lifecycle processes
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes and strategic initiatives
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a global, matrixed environment
